Fussboi Reviews Basilisk’s First Single (Full Transcript)

A special song by some very special people. Look at that, and that's the road. I'm pretty sure that's like the road that they're known for. Calistoga Road. Oh, they're not known for it, I think. No, that's Forestville where they usually play. But this is sick, dude. They got Calistoga Road right here. If you know, you know. Actually, now I don't think people from this area will know, but yeah, let's turn this all the way up.

Basilisk's first single. I'm pretty sure it's their first single. Let's get into it, man. I'm excited. I'm very excited. I don't know what to expect. I'm actually lying. I'm expecting something because I heard some snippets of the song online on their socials, and it sounded very Pink Floyd-esque. So without further ado, let's listen to it.

Ooh, kind of sounds hip-hoppy. Ooh, I love the effects on it. Oh, wow, y'all couldn't even hear that! Y'all couldn't even hear that, dude. That is fire. Actually, what? I'm going to play that for y'all. Hold on, I'm going to be quiet, too.

I like that a lot. Bro, this is actually so good. Dude, I love this. I genuinely love this. Oh, hold on. I really want to... I feel like I'm getting it, but I still want to not talk at all, because, dude, that shit is genuinely crazy. And I'm not at all acting this up, because I know that this shit is hard. It reminds me of J-pop, dude. The trumpet or whatever that horn is. Oh, the drumming on there, bro!

“That shit is genuinely crazy.”

Yo, what's good, bro? We are listening to peak, bro. Straight peak. I literally am going to hit the pen for this one. I even got a good one. I don't want to go all the way out there for my other pen. Where is my turn pod? I don't want to make you guys wait anymore. Oh, that should be good. The green turn pod, baby. Dude, this new track is really good.

Yeah, if you guys don't know, whenever there's a really good song, I take rips for it, dude. And it's just fire, dude. The trumpet, dude. Oh, this gives me the vibe that you're in, like not Belgium. You’re in a European country when it’s like 4:00 a.m. You're fucked up, you've been partying all night, and you got a sweet coffee in hand, maybe a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. You're drinking it, and you're hearing this from far away. You come and you see the guy performing, the neon lights are on, and you see him, dude.

Oh my god, dude! Oh my god, dude, wow. And there's so much going on in there, too. I feel fucked up for being so late to react to this. This came out on the 10th, dude. I should have prioritized it more, dude. I'm so sorry, bro. Fire. Genuine fire. You can hear the intricacies. That's why I don't really want to talk as much, because I just want to hear everything in there. It's insane. It truly is insane, dude. Wow. Wow.

Oh, dude, the drums! Ooh, and I like that this time, instead of the horns being on top, it's the keys, dude. I like that. I'm adding this to my playlist, dude. Wow. Yo!

Yo, like, am I tweaking? Y'all can tell me in the comments, dude. It is crazy, dude. I mean, I should have known, because here's the thing: I've known multiple people in the band since high school, and they've shown me their music since high school. I've seen different stuff they've made, and yeah, I don't know why I wouldn't have expected it to get this good. Dog, it's just genuinely so fire, dude.

And it's crazy because it's like... how do you explain? I don't know. I just feel like it's so crazy that someone made something that I like so much. Because, dude, if I heard this in a shop while eating or something, I would Shazam this shit, bro. It's that good. And to think that someone I know made this? The world is funny.

“I would Shazam this shit, bro.”

Dude, and the little... I love the little... what's it called? What do you even call them? Ah, what's the word for it? Like, notes that come around a lot is what I'm trying to get to. I forgot the word for it in videos or movies, like something that comes in frequently, you know? I like that.

And I love when they add different types of drumming in there, because you can hear the pattern go kind of different there. Yeah, you can hear it. And then, before he went through, you can kind of hear it's more right here. I went a little back.

Oh, dude, this is fire, dude. Oh my god. That horn, dude! Oh my god, dude. No, what? Dude, bro, what did they put in this shit? Yo, what did they put in this shit? Yo, that shit's so good, dude. That shit's so good.

Oh my gosh. And now it feels like when a spaceship is coming back from orbit and the pieces are breaking apart from it. It's lowering down, you still hear the drum, and it feels like damage. I don't know if I'm tweaking on that. Oh... heat, heat!

“It feels like damage.”

Yo, that's the type of shit you need to sit with at the end. Wow. Wow, bro. Wow. Oh my god. Seriously, some talented folks, dude. Talented and skillful. I mean, that's the thing: I like pro players of instruments. I don't have an ear for it, but I think that was amazing, right? I mean, I can't really judge fully because I don't have that ear, but to me it sounded amazing. Impeccable playing, the rising and lowering of that horn, and the drum pattern or drum beat, all that. That's like some of my favorite drum beats. I love when it's like that, and just everything that went on... it was not boring for a second.

It really feels like a ride, you know? So much different stuff happened. I loved all the intricacies of it. Just sitting there and listening to this is such a ride and such a joy, and I'm happy that I got to listen to this because it's an insane song. One of the best songs of 2026, I gotta say. Like, dude, this song was amazing. Seriously, y'all saw the utter amount of joy that I had listening to this. It was incredible. Incredible. Oh my god.

“One of the best songs of 2026.”

And at the end, I love the little... I don't know what sound it is. It does not sound like that, I'll tell you that much. But it was like at the hits. It would be at the hits, and it was like a little star-like sound. I like that addition as well. I think they did a phenomenal job. This shit was so good. I loved every single instrument playing on here.

That's what I was going to say, too: atmospherically, it sounds mixed so well, too. And whenever they have it sound more filtered and all that, I just love the intentionality to that, dude. Like, this is really some high-performance stuff. You can tell this wasn't half-assed at all, dude. Like, this is incredible.

I know I'm glazing so much. This is a 6-minute song and a 17-minute reaction. I'm sorry, that's just the way I do it. But it was an amazing song.

Shout out to all the guys in this band. They're seriously some talented folks. This is just one display of it, man. I can't wait to see how they progress even more, because this is such a great place to start. I'm very excited for the future, because it's looking super bright, dude. 10 out of 10. I gotta give it a 10. Dude, this shit was fucking amazing. No flaws. I had the time of my life listening to this song. So thank you, Basilisk, for that.

“10 out of 10.”

And thank you to the viewers if you guys got to the end of this video. I appreciate you guys for watching. And yeah, I was supposed to react to this last night, but I'm an asshole, so that's mostly on me. But oh my god, what a great song, you guys. What a great song. Thank you so much for watching. Make sure to follow Fussboi on Twitch for live reactions, and I'll catch you on the next one, man. Peace.
